How did you find purpose and bounce back in your 30s?

Lads who felt lost in their 30s — I’m not super wealthy. I made a lot of mistakes in my 20s: chasing girls, spending money. I’m almost 34, doing a job I don’t really like, but making decent money. What dd you change to get out of a rut? How did you find your calling? I know money is important — but is it everything? Or is it learning to be smarter with it?

Found mine through starting my own business. Landscaping. No experience. Started with lawn mowing. Picked up bigger jobs as I go.

Unlimited work out there. Provided me freedom to travel the world. Live a better life.

Set goals. Go after them.

Money isn't everything. But it helps you do what you want. That’s the key.

Find something you enjoy a hobby, work. Set a goal. Work toward it.

Once you set a goal and reach it, you’ll conquer many more things.

Im about to join the military to learn a trade @ early 30s... My thought process is learn a set of skills, become good @ it, smash jobs properly post military unless of course by some miracle the military life is the life for me, in which case I'll stay there.

Seeing a lot of people popping in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, I don't believe in savings. You might not see it through, and it's more than likely. Buy a farm or a large house out of town. Grow chickens, pigs, sheep, and veggies to keep fit and busy, or volunteer. Go to Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand every three months. Do a normal job and make 4 5K max, nothing over that you don't need to. Buy everything disposable: a 440K Chinese ute or car, and shop only at Kmart, Big W, Aldi, and marketplace. Don't make friends into expensive hobbies. Cut toxic friends or family. I'm doing this and living the best of the best life, you won't. I'm not even 40 yet.

In my 20s, I got a truck license and it opened a lot of doors . I was also all about chasing women and partying back in the younger years , then outta nowhere started a family. Next thing I knew, the family's grown up, I'm single, with nothing but a smashed up car, a car with a blown engine , and I lost my job while moving house.

I really only started getting my sh*t together last year after barely making it through each week and getting nowhere. I took a good look at my statements to see where I was spending , then set my bank up to pay, save, and invest automatically, plus salary sacrifice.

Now I'm always just broke AF haha, but at least my debt's shrinking and there's money for the future, which feels better. It's not all boring and gloomy either I have an account that automatically takes a little each week to send me to Vegas and Texas next April , and another account for events like Cooly Rocks On .

Just looked at my main bank account and I've got 19c , but my Vegas account has $2,300, my Wise account has almost USD $700, and my ETFs are over $9k after 9 months investing .
