Should I seek angel investors to fund my Adelaide construction startup?

Hey Fellas,

I've been pouring my hart into this dream of starting my own construction company here in Adelaide, and I'm really trying to figure out the most genuine way to raise those initial funds. Would walking the path of angel investors be a truly viable option, or is there anyone here who feels a real pull toward investing in a startup like mine? I'd be so sincerely happy to offer meaningful incentives or a heartfelt share of the business in exchange for that first spark of support. Any kind of help or guidance would mean everything to me.

Thanks so much in advance.

You might want to be careful right now lots of civil construction contractors are feeling the squeeze from riisng costs, and that could lead to a slowdown in civil work. Adelaide’s booming though, and hopefully you’re on the Northside. Starting with handyman stuff could be a great way to ease in without a big outlay, and you can start building up your supplier accounts. Some places can be pretty tough with credit checks, so having a bit of credit history behind you before you try to get a 30 day end of month account with a supplier like Reece will really help. Good luck, mate!

Start grassroots. You will face cashflow problems, clients delaying payments, RTWSA obligations, and tax demands.

Start from the bottom and learn the business. There is no point going into debt for a business built on manual labour and goodwill until you have established yourself.
