I think such a thread is important for a forum like this one :)

I thought that, if we all pitch in with 1-2 ideas, we could make a good list of various ways to pay off debt. Any debt! Mortgage, credit card debt, payday loans... you name it!

Who wants to start?

I think the main point should be to set a budget. Consider your last month’s expenses from bank or credit card statements. To organize your expenses, you can use an excel spreadsheet. Create categories for each expense in order to set a limit for that category, and also list your income.

Though it is an old thread, I'd still like to add some notes here since it is an important one.

I agree that to pay off any debt it is essential to learn to manage your budget. Moreover, it is important to change your spending habits, start saving more and look for the opportunities of additional earnings.

As about the debt repayment itself, I'd suggest taking advantage of the money you've got from your monthly savings and start paying about 10% more each month, gradually increasing this percentage of extra repayment. It will help get rid of the debt faster.

People who have multiple debts may benefit from repaying loans with the higher interest first. This will help minimize the total amount of debt.

Hey, I just read your thread, if you are stuckup in mortgage case then I would advise you that try contacting mortgage professionals. They provide best services, and they will surely help you out.
