Should I start investing with Aussie ETFs like VAS and VGS with $1000?

Hi, I’m an Aussie. I want to dip ym toes into the stock market. Long-term equity and investment is my goal.

For my first time, Aussie ETFs like VAS and VGS seem safest. I’m keeping it simple. No more than 2 or 3 ETFs. That avoids too many fees.

I have about $1000 to start. I plan to add more over time.

Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

If you're looking at Vanguard, I would set up directly through them online.

I use VDHG. The management fee is 0.27%, and returns are around 11% per year.

These ETFs are very diverse. I don't put in large amounts, so one is enough for me.

The best thing you can do is just start. Be regular with whatever you can afford.

Perhaps I run:
IVV 60%
VAS 20%
VEU 20%

This seems like a fairly basic approach, and I wonder if it offers a good spread of market growth for a long term perspective. I believe VEU does require a form to be filled out for tax purposes, though it appears to be easy enough to do.
