Hey guys, I face a dilemma. I feel so confused. I recently moved to Melbourne and really struggle to find a job. I worked five years in administration (2.5 years) in state government. I am looking to do a Diploma of Building and Construction. However, I have no trade certificates or experience. I seek advice: Is it worth doing hte diploma? I don’t want to waste time on the certificate that won’t help me get work. Thanks guys

Ideally, you’d want some idea of how it works from the other side. A traditional trade is 4 years. You’d be better off getting some labouring work and building up knowledge, skills, and contacts from there. It’s a hard slog, though.

Tbh, imo admin work is getting done more and more by tech. I'd say check your resume for a link to a role or industry that needs a human to do the work. It's a bitter pill to swallow. Sorry.
