How much should I earn in marketing to feel financially secure?

Hey All,

I'm feeling a bit lost career-wise. I'm really single, and when I look ahead, I'm just not sure when or if a partner will come into my life.

That obviously makes things tough when I think about saving for a house or what my future might look like.

With that in mind, I've tried really hard to make myself financially secure, but it never quite feels like enough.

I've seen a lot of users share their salaries in past posts, so I thought a post like this would be handy—anyone can drop their salary + role/industry. Just so we aall get a sense of what the market looks like in every industry and job.

For example: I'm at $100k + super, working in marketing.

Everyone will be anonymous. 35 years old. $95k in hospital finance (easy job).

I would aim higher and go for a better paying job. But I am already extremely well off with no debt and a paid off house.

I like the idea of this post if people are honest about their earnings. It is a great way to explore other roles and industries and their pay.

Comparing salaries, whether high or low, will only stir up turmoil in your heart it does nothing good for your emotional well being. Marketing is such a beautiful, powerful skill nurture it with all your heart. If it truly brings you joy, I’d pou r myself into it, learning it as intimately as the back of my hand, so I could share that gift on the side, through a business of my own. Please don’t let the employee mindset cage your spirit. Wishing you all the warmth and courage on your journey.
