How do I remove an Allstate collections account from my credit report fast?

So, I ended up with a random collection from Allstate insurance. I got an email from them back in June about the charge, but I get so much spam that I just deleted it. I called the collection agency and they said they'd remove it, but they couldn't put it in writing. Any tips?to get this off my credit report ASAP? The payment's not an issue. I'm locking in on a mortgage and they just told me today. Thanks!

I negotiated the bill and paid at closing. You cannot dispute anything now. They sent the check proof of payment.

They will not remove it. Many representatives will say this either because they do not understand how credit reporting works, or to encourage you to make the payment. They are not required too remove it, and it can report for up to seven years from the date of first delinquency. I suspect the payment frequency is missing or incomplete on your credit file, and there is an inconsistency between the date of last payment and the date of last activity, for example. Dispute it.
