How do I accurately calculate my take-home pay for budgeting?

Step One

INCOME – Figure out your take-home pay, not what you signed when starting the job. Only calculate the money that actually makes it to your account after taxes and fees.

If it is inconsistent, figure an average. Go back 3 or even 6 months of what you take home. Try to find the closest average.

Budgets are month to month, and sometimes week to week. If you are serious about budgeting and making your goals, you need to be serious about taking time to not only create your budget but track it every day/week/month. You will have to update it constantly and check in on yourself.

It isn’t something you set and move on from. It is a lifestyle change and hard work. But once you start, you can get obsessed ‍♀️‍♀️ IT'S ME, I'M OBSESSED!

But I still dislike tracking my spending and balancing my accounts. I REALLY HATE SEEING WHEN I OVERSPEND. It would be easier to jut not track and act like it didn’t happen, BUT that is what causes a downward spiral of poor decisions when I ignore my budget.

I created a free Weekly Budget Tracker. If you’re interested, comment Yes, Please below.
