How can I remove late payments from a closed auto loan on my credit report?

I have a closed auto loan on my credit report. The balance is zero. But late payments hurt my credit score. I don’t want to remove the account. It helps my credit history. I just want the late payments updated or corrected. How can I get that done?
 
You can dispute those late payments if the dates are different across the bureaus you don’t have to remove the account. All you’re doing is having the bureau verify that the account is being reported accurately.
