Hey lads!

So, does anybody here genuinely dabble or live off scalp/day/swing trading?
And forex is a bonus, as that's what im interested in.

But not looking for get rich quick gurus or scammers lol.

And just curious to meet other people that into the trading scene.

Cheers gents
And have a good day.

Yeah, 100% possible if you put in the work. I do right now. But you’ve gotta learn proper market dynamics, the phase of price, and approach every concept with an open mind. All retail stuff is bs, so don’t fall for it. Happy to send you in the right direction.

People are making money, you know, but they set up a company outside the greed of some entities that absolutely take the piss, as they offer little back to the public for their tax dollars paid. It’s really about the right business structure if you’re in Australia.

Yeah, sure, I suppose I can. I macro trade commodities oil, gas, gold, and silver and forex, mainly AUD/USD, and I do okay; I can’t live off it yet, but it’s nice to have the extra money. I short term trade with CFDs anywhere from 1 day to 3 months,,and if I’m swing trading, I’ll maybe just find two assets that correlate, since I don’t have enough capital to run two accounts yet for example, long US crude and short Brent crude. I’d have said I was doing great, but I had a massive short on oil when the conflict escalated last year and got absolutely smoked . If you’d like to learn proper market dynamics, i.e. PE ratios, I’d recommend a YouTube channel by a young trader great no crap content, very sound principle thinking behind trading, as far as I can tell; I couldn’t recommend it enough to any young trader.

Swing or day trading isn’t simply about having a strategy it’s about discipline. The real challenge is managing money, staying true to your entry/exit rules, and controlling your emotions under pressure.

A big reason people succeed in demo accounts but fail with real money is psychology. Once it’s your own money, behaviour changes. Loss aversion takes hold losing $1 hurts about twice as much as gaining $1 feels good so people cut winners early and hold on to losers too long.

You can give people the same strategy, but most will break their own rules. Consistency comes down to risk management, position sizing, and the discipline to execute a plan without deviation.

That’s why not everyone can do it it’s less about strategy, more about behaviour.
