How much should I save weekly for my 2 kids?

So we have just one kid. My husband puts in $25 every two weeks. I do $35 every two weeks. Since we get paid on opposite weeks, it works out well.

We’ve kept this up for about 2 and a half years now. I used to put in $50 every two weeks, but I had to lower it because of other bills.

It’s been a good system for us.

I would recommend allocating 3% of your net monthly income for saving to your kids. If you bring it down to 1% in difficult times, it's not the whole world. The most important thing for kids is their parents anyway, not money in the bank 15 years out.

Put everything in a global index fund; over 5 years+, the stock market is nearly always up. And in most cases up a lot.

Ten bucks a week.
That's what I'm doing right now.
I want to do more, though. Soon.
I've also got this thought about moving things to a brokerage account, you know, and putting money into an SP 500 fund.

It’s true, I don’t get an allowance for myself. But for him I’m saving in a 529 Plan. Right now, just $50 a month, until my car is paid off. Then I promise I’ll catch up. I’ll put in $400 every month until he turns 18.

Yeah, so it's $20 a month. And then for her birthday, she usually ends up with around $500 to $700 from everyone, and Christtmas is even more, like about a thousand dollars. I let her pick out a few things she wants with some of it, you know, but the rest I just put straight into the bank. Oh, I actually got her a CD it matures in June. My plan is, once that matures, I'll take it out and just add it to her bucket in my high yield savings account. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. She's only 13 now, so by the time she needs a car, we should be able to just pay cash for it.

I've got two kids, and I put aside $60 a month for each of them. Honestly, I just use a Capital One kids' savings account for it. It feels simple and straightforward to me.

Yeah, I set aside $10 a week for each of my kids. I’m up to $10K saved already. My plan is to give that to each of them when they’re starting out as young adults.
