750 credit score, 48k loan—how can I get mortgage approval in rural VIC?

I'm looking for a broker to help me get pre-approval for a mortgage. Westpac turned me down for a loan on a house in rural Victoria, that I want to buy. They said no because my credit score is 750, which dropped due to several finance applications. There's a reason for that, but I don't have any defaults.

I have the deposit ready, but it hasn't been saved up for a full three months yet. Westpac didn't seem too worried about that part.

I just want someone who can make this work so I can get back to owning my own home.

I earn a base salary of $75k working full time, and with overtime, I've made between $140k and $150k over the last three years.

I also have a personal loan of $48k with seven years left to pay.

Thanks for your help.

It seems straightforward, just double check everything to be sure a lender would consider it.

I'm working tonight if you'd like to talk things through. Otherwise, I'm sure many brokers will be happy to help you.

Hey Anon, happy to help. Just send me a PM and we can check out a bunch of different options. A CCR of 750 is actually pretty good, so I'm not sure exactly why Westpac had an issue with it.

I’m with Heritage, and honestly, they’ve been pretty decent so far. It makes me wonder my broker really urged me to avoid Westpac, and now I’m reflecting on whether there’s a deeper reason behind that advice.
