How do you find the best debt consolidation loan? What should you look for? What lender would you go to first?

I know you can either repair your credit on your own, or you can hire help, so so say, in which case you'd have to choose a credit repair company. But how do you know which one is the best?

This is an interesting question! I've never even thought about it until now! So, when I buy groceries &stuff, I use my CC. Gas, clothes, eating out and whatnot, also use my CC. Hmm... I guess I only pay cash when I buy little things, like, for instance, I pay with cash when I buy a magazine...

What are the chances for someone who has filed for bankruptcy to get approved for a car loan? IMO, it's impossible. Or at least, I haven't heard of any car loan lenders who will give you money, despite you being currently in bankruptcy!

Did anyone have any experience with UpStart? I'm, again, asking for help in regards to consolidating my student loans, and would like to hear your opinions about these guys as well. I know they don't usually deal with refinancing student loans, but someone recommended them to me anyway.

What do you guys know about Sofi? Are they OK? Should I refinance my student loans through them? I've heard they offer low fixed interest rates, but you'd have to be employed. Well, that's not a problem in my case, but I'd like to hear other people's opinions about them before applying for a loan.
